Structured Day Program Details
Venture Forthe’s Structured Day Pogram is located in the heart of downtown Buffalo in the historic Ellicott Square Building. The Ellicott Square building was built in 1896 and at the time was the largest office building in the world. It continues to hold that grandeur with ornate iron work, mosaic floors and a center atrium with a glass roof, which is the heart of the building.
The Venture Forthe SDP site is on the first floor corner unit of this wonderful building and has entrances going into the lobby and also onto street level. The SDP site encompasses almost 3000 square feet and has common area in which clients are able to play a game of pool, craft with their friends or play a friendly game of cards. The space easily accommodates 30 people, leaving plenty of space for multiple activities and interests to be enjoyed at the same time.
This space also includes a private room for lunches and conversations, and an additional separate room where clients can “jam out” to their favorite musician or play an instrument. Additionally, music therapy is offered on a weekly basis. The owner and founder of Venture Forthe is a musician, so music has always been an important and enjoyable part of treatment offered by the program.

In addition to multiple activities happening inside the day program site at any given time, due to the location being on a bus route there are many options to engage in community events. These events range from ball games at Sahlen’s Field (directly across the street), trips to the Walden Galleria shopping mall, local farmers markets or even just a stroll to a coffee shop or Erie Public Library, just to name a few. There is never a dull moment at SDP, unless one chooses just to sit back, watch a movie or read a book, which is always an option too!
The Venture Forthe SDP operates 7 days per week (closed major holidays) from 9am to 3pm. During any of these times, clients can be observed enjoying activities and spending time with their friends. We look forward to you spending time with us soon.
All of our programs can be funded through Medicaid at no or low cost.
We also accept workers’ compensation, long-term care insurance, and private pay.
